Remember the good old days of turning on the TV for news?.. Actually, I think some older generations still get their news that way. Well, I’m here to tell you that just five minutes or less each morning can help you get all the news you need to start your day.
Well Millenial’s ( and non-millenials..), I am here to tell you that there are apps and subscription services that will bring you the top global events straight to your inbox.. or your phone each morning. You can walk in straight to your place of work, or school (if you’re still in school) and know exactly what everyone is discussing. Is your office talking about the Brexit deal and how it’s impacting the supply chain? Well, you can already be one step ahead.
Here are my top favorite Newsworthy email/app subscription services:
The Skimm
I love this one. It’s so funny and relatable. I can just turn off all forms of media and disappear from the planet, come back read this in the morning and be all caught back up. It’s pretty great. Here’s the description from their site:”the email newsletter that gives you everything you need to know to start your day. We break down what's going on in the world with fresh editorial content. We'll meet you in your inbox M-F, bright and early. The Daily Skimm leaves our hands--keyboard at 6am ET”. Did I mention they also have an app… :)
Need 2 Know
Need2Know is short, quick, and to the point. I sometimes will skip the humor of the Skimm to just get the highlights of the day. I enjoy reading both but love how short and to the point Need2Know emails are in the morning.
The Hustle
The Hustle was introduced to me by a coworker and at first I was overwhelmed by the length. However, the details and breakdown of top business and global news was so graspable that I just can’t imagine my life before it now. Be the cool kid in the office who can explain the worldly news to common people like you and me.
Quartz Daily Brief
The Quartz will make you feel like a Million bucks. No, really.. It’s the top global economy news. You will sound like the smartest person in the room from their emails. This is not a quick read like TheSkimm, but i promise you it’s detailed and will give you all the information you need in one quick email.
Of course, I also love using, Twitter and Mashable however i just know i can cut the #fakenews when I read these sites. Comment and share where you get your news from on the daily!
